DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'!

JOURNEY'S "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'" IS THE TOP DIGITAL DOWNLOAD . . . AMONG SONGS RELEASED BEFORE THE DIGITAL ERA:

The British newspaper, "The Guardian", is reporting that the JOURNEY classic, "Don't Stop Believin'", has become the Internet's most-downloaded OLD song. Technically, they're refer to it as the top "catalog" track, which means that it's the best-selling song, on digital platforms . . . that was released BEFORE the digital era. (--The digital download era began, essentially, in 2003 . . . when the iTunes music store opened and "Billboard" began charting legal music downloads.)

"Don't Stop Believing" . . . which was released in 1981 . . . has surpassed the TWO MILLION download mark . . . and it's the FIRST old song to cross that threshold. (--The song has been available on iTunes since it launched, in April of 2003.) Downloads of "Don't Stop Believin'" surged BIG TIME last year, when it was INFAMOUSLY used in the final moments of "The Sopranos" series finale. (--In the three days following that episode, the song's sales on iTunes shot up 482%.)
