TATTOO CLICHES

FIVE FIRST-TIME TATTOO CLICHÉS TO AVOID:

Today it seems like everybody's got a tattoo. Which is why it's important to be original with your body art. Here are five tattoo clichés you should avoid at all cost . . .JK

#1.) BARBED WIRE AROUND YOUR ARM. Having barbed wire tattooed around your arm doesn't mean you're tough. It means you're unoriginal. And the same goes for tribal bands.

#2.) THE BUTTERFLY TRAMP STAMP. Even though they're nicknamed 'tramp stamps,' the lower back tattoo is still pretty popular. And that's fine. But getting a butterfly tattooed there makes it even more of a cliché.

#3.) ANGEL WINGS ON YOUR BACK. Most of the time they're so small, they look completely unrealistic. But getting HUGE wings on your back is a big commitment . . . and you'll risk looking like a religious fanatic.

#4.) ANYTHING ON YOUR ANKLE. It's another one that's popular with the ladies. But if you're getting your first tattoo, make sure you'll be able to hide it. Women usually regret ankle tattoos because they're tough to hide.

#5.) ANY "LOONEY TUNES" CHARACTER. They're meaningless, people almost always regret them, and they're usually accompanied by a hard night of drinking. People get tattoos to feel OLDER or to feel YOUNG AGAIN . . . but not THAT young. (MatadorLife.com)
