READ THIS BEFORE YOU RE-LOCATE FOR LOVE

FIVE QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE RELOCATING FOR LOVE:

Is your boyfriend or girlfriend thinking about relocating to find work? A lot of people are doing it right now, but before you move across the country for someone else, make sure you ask these five questions . . .

#1.) HOW LONG WILL IT LAST? Knowing what you're up against is the first step. Three months in a new city isn't that big a deal. It can even be romantic. But if you're relocating INDEFINITELY, make sure your relationship is serious.

#2.) WHAT WILL YOU DO THERE? Make sure YOU have a new job lined up too. If the other person says they'll support you, great. But it's a big risk. If you break up, you'll be alone in a strange place . . . and jobless.

#3.) DO YOU KNOW ANYONE THERE? Moving to a new city is a lot easier if you know even just one or two people there. Having a support system is important. Remember, making friends as an ADULT is a lot harder than when you were in college.

#4.) DO YOU HAVE AN EXIT STRATEGY? What if the new job stinks? What if nine months go by and you still don't have any friends? What if your relationship doesn't work out? Think about some worst-case scenarios and how you'll deal with them.

#5.) IS IT WORTH IT? Instead of uprooting your entire life, why not try a long-distance relationship for a while? If your relationship is important enough for you to THINK about moving, then it should be able to survive a few months apart. (YourTango.com)
