HOLLYWOOD DIRT OVERFLOW (08-02-10)
ALICIA KEYS GOT MARRIED THIS WEEKEND:
ALICIA KEYS and producer SWIZZ BEATZ made The Big Jump Saturday on the French island of Corsica. It was a small wedding, with BONO and QUEEN LATIFAH among the guests. DEEPAK CHOPRA conducted the ceremony. --Alicia is currently carrying Swizz Beatz's fetus, and her vaginal muscles are due to force it out into the world later this year.
HEIDI MONTAG HAS FILED FOR DIVORCE:
HEIDI MONTAG filed for divorce from SPENCER PRATT on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences. (--I'm surprised Heidi CITED irreconcilable differences . . . mainly because I didn't know Heidi could SPELL irreconcilable differences.) --After the announcement, Spencer tried to save some face with a statement of his own. He said, quote, "I love Heidi, but our marriage was a show . . . it was part of the 'Hills' world. And that world is on a sound stage." --He added, quote, "Some say if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Well, Heidi couldn't handle King Spencer's fame so she got out of the marriage."
LINDSAY LOHAN MAY HAVE TO GO TO REHAB RIGHT AFTER GETTING OUT OF JAIL:
(--By the time we had to break down and write this story, Lindsay Lohan was still, as far as we knew, behind bars.) (--It wasn't made clear when she was getting out. But for all we know, she might have been released in the wee hours of this morning. In other words, she might be free RIGHT NOW.) When LINDSAY LOHAN gets out of jail . . . (--and that could be any minute now) . . . she might not get the break she was hoping for before going into rehab. --So-called "sources" say that Judge Marsha Revel wants Lindsay to check into rehab petty much RIGHT AWAY . . . just so there's no chance that she'll relapse or launch into party mode before she hits the clinic. --Lindsay's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, says she hopes Lindsay will get at least 24 hours to be with her family before she goes. --Several news organizations are reporting that Lindsay is going to do her 90 days of rehab at a facility called Morningside Recovery in Orange County, California. --It's a pretty high-end facility, and they do offer perks like surfing, snorkeling, meditation and yoga. But there's a 7:00 A.M. wakeup time and a curfew, and all patients are expected to do chores and attend their counseling sessions. --If she violates any rules and they notify the judge, Lindsay could wind up right back in prison. --Lindsay will have to pay her own tab, which is between $10,000 and $15,000 a month. --The word is that Morningside lobbied hard with the court to get Lindsay, saying they'd be tougher on her than the average clinic, and would basically cut her off from the outside world. (--There's another report claiming that a lot of these plans have changed. You can get all the details on the following page . . .)
RADARONLINE SAYS LINDSAY WILL BE TAKEN DIRECTLY TO A DIFFERENT FACILITY AFTER GETTING OUT OF PRISON:
RadarOnline.com says that there's been a change in plans for LINDSAY LOHAN. --They claim she was due to be released at 12:01 A.M. this morning . . . (--That would be 3:01 Eastern Time) . . . and she was to be taken directly to a different facility . . . NOT Morningside. --Supposedly, Judge Revel decided last-minute that there was a danger at Morningside that people could smuggle drugs to Lindsay from the outside.
LINDSAY LOHAN IS NOT BEING TREATED FOR METH ADDICTION:
TMZ was reporting yesterday that LINDSAY LOHAN will be treated for bipolar disorder and an addiction to METHAMPHETAMINE in rehab. -But Lindsay's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, says Lindsay is NOT a meth addict. She adds, quote, "I have no idea where that came from, but I can tell you, it's false." (--You have to wonder if someone got mixed up over Adderall, the ADHD medication Lindsay takes. It's an AMPHETAMINE, but that's not the same thing as methamphetamine.)
DID LINDSAY LOHAN WANT THE GIRL NEXT DOOR MOVED INTO HER CELL???
It's easy to make lesbian prison jokes about LINDSAY LOHAN . . . which is why I'm not 100% sure this actually happened. But it's out there, so we might as well deal with it . . . --TMZ claims that Lindsay became good friends with the girl in the cell next door to hers. Apparently, they talked through the wall a lot. --And they became such good friends that Lindsay asked if the girl could be moved into Lindsay's cell. Her request was denied.
LINDSAY LOHAN APPEARS IN A MOVIE THAT WAS WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY THE SHAMWOW GUY:
Before LINDSAY LOHAN was sentenced to 90 days in jail, she made yet another brilliant career move, by appearing in a movie called "Underground Comedy 2010". --The movie was written and directed by VINCE OFFER . . . who also co-stars in it. You would know Vince as the TV pitchman who sold you both your ShamWow AND your SlapChop. (!!!) --The movie is a collection of skits . . . a lot of which seem to have just been lifted from "The Underground Comedy Movie" . . . which Vince made and released in 1999. --Lindsay appears in a new segment as a MARILYN MONROE look-alike who guns down a pack of paparazzi. And they even show her SCRAM bracelet. (--"Underground Comedy 2010" is SUPPOSEDLY getting a theatrical release this fall. But after you watch the trailer at the link below, I think you'll agree with me that this one is heading straight to DVD . . .)
(--WARNING!!! There's some questionable language in this clip . . .)

OKSANA GRIGORIEVA DID A REHEARSED INTERVIEW THAT'S SUPPOSED TO SOUND IMPROMPTU:
OKSANA GRIGORIEVA gave an interview to RadarOnline.com the other day, which they tried to disguise as a paparazzi run-in in the parking lot of a grocery store. --Seriously . . . this interview was so OBVIOUSLY rehearsed and set up in advance. --And let's all remember that RadarOnline is the site that's been publishing all of the Mel Gibson-related audio and pictures that Oksana SWEARS she didn't give to them. (--In other words, Oksana and RadarOnline are thick as thieves. And if they weren't, why would Oksana be so willing to talk to them, and so gracious and hospitable to their people???) --The questions are all a big setup for Oksana to say whatever she wants . . . which she does for about three minutes, even though she keeps saying that she can't talk about this stuff because of court orders. (--You can check out the video here . . .)

WILL OKSANA DO "DANCING WITH THE STARS"???
There's a rumor going around that OKSANA GRIGORIEVA is in talks to compete on the upcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars". --But the deal might be in jeopardy, because it was being set up by Oksana's rep, Howard Bragman, and he dropped her as a client after about 48 HOURS on the job. --Also, Oksana is worried about taking up the commitment because of her court battle with MEL GIBSON. -A so-called "source" says, quote, "It would have given her a lot of money, not violated the gag order and promoted her as a talented musician, all while softening her public image in front of more than 40 million viewers each week. --"It was lined up for her, with good pay. It was big bucks compared to nothing."
AL GORE IS IN THE CLEAR IN OREGON:
Prosecutors in Portland, Oregon have decided that there's not enough evidence to charge AL GORE with the sexual assault of his massage therapist back in 2006. --The D.A.'s office issued a statement explaining their decision to drop the case, citing, quote, "contradictory evidence, conflicting witness statements, credibility issues, lack of forensic evidence and denials by Mr. Gore." --They also noted that the alleged victim was uncooperative, failed a polygraph test and refused to say whether she'd been paid by the "National Enquirer", which printed her story in late June. --Gore's camp issued a statement saying that Al was, quote, "pleased that this matter has now been resolved." --The alleged victim first contacted police back in 2006, but then bagged on three scheduled meetings with investigators. Her attorney eventually said they were going to handle it as a civil matter. --Nothing else was heard from her until January of 2009, when she went back to police and filed a criminal complaint.
DENNIS RODMAN WAS IN A ROLLOVER SATURDAY, BUT HE'S OKAY:
DENNIS RODMAN was riding in a Land Rover that flipped over on Interstate 95 near Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday . . . but he and another passenger were unhurt. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for head injuries --Police say the vehicle flipped because a tire blew out, and no charges will be filed. --Rodman's agent spoke with him yesterday . . . and he says Rodman told him, quote, "I'm still living, brother. They can't get rid of me." --According to TMZ, the Land Rover flipped three times, and Rodman had to be pulled from the wreck by some people who stopped to help. --Supposedly, after saving Rodman they asked for his autograph, and he, quote, "politely declined."
SANDRA BULLOCK WANTS TO BE CUT OUT OF A GULF CLEANUP PSA . . . BECAUSE IT'S CONNECTED TO BP AND OTHER OIL COMPANIES:
SANDRA BULLOCK is among several celebrities who urges people to contribute to the cleanup of the Gulf of Mexico in a PSA called "Be The One". --But now, Sandra wants her part CUT OUT . . . because she found out that BP and other oil companies may have had something to do with the video. --The group that produced it is called Women of the Storm. But some website did some investigating, and found out that a group called America's Wetland Foundation was involved in it, too. --And that group takes money from the oil companies. Now people are saying the video is oil company propaganda to promote drilling and push for taxpayer money to clean up BP's oil spill. (--Women of the Storm denies taking money from America's Wetland Foundation . . . but they admit they did get INFORMATION from them.) --Sandra's attorney says, quote, "At no time was [Sandra] made aware that any organization, oil company or otherwise had influence over Women of the Storm or its message. --"We have immediately asked for her participation in the PSA be removed until the facts can be determined." (--They haven't complied yet. Here's the video . . .)

"INCEPTION" IS #1 AT THE BOX OFFICE FOR THREE WEEKS IN A ROW:
"Inception" made another $27.5 million over the weekend to top the box office for its third straight week. Meanwhile, the new STEVE CARELL comedy "Dinner for Schmucks" opened in second with a decent take of $23.3 million.
1.) "Inception", $27.5 million (--Up to $193 million in its 3rd week.)
2.) (NEW) "Dinner for Schmucks", $23.3 million
3.) "Salt", $19.3 million (--Up to $70.8 million in its 2nd week.)
JULIA ROBERTS IS TOO OLD FOR ROMANTIC COMEDIES:
JULIA ROBERTS is who she is today because of romantic comedies. But you're not likely to see her in too many more. --She says, quote, "I think I'm too old for those silly situations of unrequited love! It becomes less plausible when you're in the 40s to be [falling] down in the hallways because a boy walks by! --"I've read a couple lately that are more original and more mature, but they just didn't seem to fit for me."
SYLVESTER STALLONE WANTS TO DIRECT A "RAMBO" PREQUEL:
The new "Rambo" sequel seems to be dead, but now SYLVESTER STALLONE is talking about directing a PREQUEL, with a younger actor in the lead role. --He says, quote, "I certainly think this is worth pondering because it's intriguing to find the whys and wherefores of how people have come to become what they are. --"The traumas, the loss, and the tragedy of being in Vietnam would certainly be a great challenge for a young actor, and it would be ironic that Rambo directs younger Rambo after having played it for 20 plus years."
IS THE NEW "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGES' PANEL SET?
Nothing is official yet . . . but it's sounding more and more like your new "American Idol" judges' panel will be: AEROSMITH singer STEVEN TYLER, JENNIFER LOPEZ and RANDY JACKSON.
--SIMON COWELL announced that he would not be back for another season back in January . . . and last week, ELLEN DEGENERES announced that she was quitting.
--KARA DIOGUARDI was not signed for the upcoming season . . . and according to multiple sources, her contract isn't being renewed. In other words, she's essentially been FIRED.
--Reps for Steven and J-Lo have not commented on the "Idol" rumors . . . but TMZ reports that the deals are still being finalized.
--However, a spokesperson for Aerosmith did say that no matter what, quote, "the Aerosmith tour will continue on for its full scheduled run with Steven Tyler."
(--If this is true, I can see it working like this: The band finishes its tour, which is currently scheduled to run through September. Then, the band could write and record a new album, while Steven is in L.A. doing "Idol" next spring.)
--As for Randy, word has it that he almost got the boot, too . . . but in the end, producers wanted to keep one connection to the original judges' panel, so Randy was kept on. (--Plus, he still had a year left on his contract anyway.)
-Some say Fox could make all this official TODAY at a pre-planned media event . . . but "Entertainment Weekly" says no announcement is expected for a while.
SNOOKI WAS ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
"Jersey Shore" train wreck NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI was arrested for public drunkenness on Friday in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. --Police took her off in handcuffs after she passed out during a marathon afternoon drinking session. MTV was filming that day, so there's about a 100% chance that all this will be featured, at some point, on "Jersey Shore". (--Technically, there's no official word whether MTV caught footage of the arrest, but if they did . . . we'll see it.) --A so-called "eyewitness" says, quote, "She was passed out face down in the sand. She couldn't even stand up. She was on her knees and kept falling on the beach. People were laughing and taking pictures of her before the cops arrested her." --Snooki was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct . . . and was later released. (--TMZ posted a video, which they claim was filmed sometime before the arrest. It features Snooki attempting to get on a bike . . . looking HAMMERED. She falls sideways off the bike and onto the ground. Here it is . . .)

(--By the way, the Season Two premiere of "Jersey Shore" drew 5.3 million viewers last Thursday night. That blew the first season premiere, which had 1.4 million viewers, out of the water. It also set a ratings record for the show.)
WILL JENNIFER ANISTON GUEST STAR ON "COUGAR TOWN"?
"Entertainment Weekly" says JENNIFER ANISTON is, quote, "nearing a deal" to guest star on COURTENEY COX'S sitcom "Cougar Town". Supposedly, she'd be on one episode, which would air early in this upcoming season. --But she isn't signed on yet. The show's executive producer, Bill Lawrence, says, quote, "I would love for it to happen, but there's nothing to talk about yet." (--Back in 2007, Jennifer did a guest spot on Courteney's old FX show, "Dirt". And as you may remember, they KISSED on that episode.) --By the way, Lawrence has decided NOT to change the title of "Cougar Town". He explains, quote, "We never thought of a good new one, which kind of sucks. --"And when you look at the modern landscape of television, changing the title means changing your DVR and all this other stuff. It'll be a funny burden to have. It might be the worst-titled show of all time."
PRESIDENT OBAMA'S "VIEW" APPEARANCE SET A RATINGS RECORD:
Perhaps not surprisingly, PRESIDENT OBAMA lifted "The View" to an all time ratings high last Thursday. An estimated 6.6 million people watched the episode. --Ironically, the show's previous high, of 6.2 million viewers, was set the day after the 2008 presidential election.
"30 ROCK" WILL DO A *LIVE* EPISODE THIS SEASON:
NBC has announced that "30 Rock" will do a LIVE episode this season. And they'll do it twice . . . once for the East Coast and once for the West. It'll air on October 14th.

We knew that ROB LOWE would be on "Parks and Recreation" for "a number of episodes" this season . . . but now it's official: He'll be a full, regular cast member. The next season of "Parks" won't premiere until this winter. (--Rob appeared on the final two episodes of last season as well.)
PIERS MORGAN WILL REPLACE LARRY KING:
TheWrap.com says it's official: "America's Got Talent" judge PIERS MORGAN will replace LARRY KING after "Larry King Live" ends this coming November. --Supposedly, Piers and CNN are finalizing a deal now . . . and the official announcement is expected within the next two weeks.

"My Bloody Valentine" minx Jaime King . . . who you'd know better as Goldie in "Sin City" . . . is their mentor.) (--The winner of the first season, some chick named Tanedra Howard, got to play the girl from the "opening trap" scene in "Saw 6".)
LADY GAGA WOULDN'T BOYCOTT ARIZONA . . . BUT SHE DID PROTEST THE STATE'S CONTROVERSIAL IMMIGRATION LAW ONSTAGE:
LADY GAGA performed a gig in Phoenix on Saturday night . . . and during the show, she told the crowd that some other unnamed artists asked her to cancel the show to boycott the state's controversial immigration law. --Lady Gaga refused . . . but she spun the whole situation into a self-righteous speech that she rattled off in front of about 14,000 fans . . . who, of course, went nuts over every single thing she said. --She said, quote, "I got a phone call from [some] really big rock 'n' rollers, big pop stars, big rappers . . . and they said, 'We'd like you to boycott Arizona because of SB 1070.' --"And I said, 'Do you really think that us . . . pop stars are going to collapse the economy of Arizona?'" --Then, Lady Gaga laid out HER plan . . . quote, "I'll tell you what we have to do about SB 1070. We have to be active. We have to actively protest. --"The nature of the Monster Ball [Tour] is to actively protest prejudice, and injustice, and the bull(crap) that is put on our society . . . because you're a superstar. No matter who you are or where you came from, and you were born that way." --She added, quote, "I will not cancel my show. I will yell and I will scream louder . . . and I will hold you, and we will hold each other, and we will peacefully protest this state." (--Here's video of this. ***WARNING***: It includes UNCENSORED PROFANITY.)

"I GOTTA FEELING" HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED SIX MILLION TIMES:
The BLACK EYED PEAS song "I Gotta Feeling" has set a new record. It's been downloaded . . . legally . . . SIX MILLION TIMES. It's the first song to hit that mark. --WILL.I.AM says, quote, "We came out in '98 and our career, if you would look at it on chart, there's no dips in it. For our career to still be healthy and vibrant and doing things like 6 million downloads, it's pretty significant." --He adds, quote, "That means that they chose to support the group, support the art. God knows how many people listened to it online and didn't buy it, downloaded it for free and didn't think about it."
A NEW MICHAEL JACKSON ALBUM WILL BE OUT IN NOVEMBER:
A rep for MICHAEL JACKSON'S estate tells "Rolling Stone" that an album of Michael's unreleased music will come out sometime in November. --For now, all we know about this disc is that it'll feature 10 songs. --This COULD be the first of many posthumous Michael Jackson releases. Frank DiLeo . . . who was Michael's manager . . . estimates that there are over 100 finished Michael Jackson songs, which have never seen the light of day. --DiLeo tells "Rolling Stone" that a lot of those songs were recorded back in the '80s, but some of them were pretty recent. (--Those include collaborations with AKON, NE-YO and WILL.I.AM of the BLACK EYED PEAS.) --Regarding the older tracks, DiLeo says, quote, "There are a couple of songs we recorded for the 'Bad' album that we had to cut that are just sensational." (--But again, it's unclear if those will make the cut for this disc.) --Last year, former Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola said, quote, "Every time that [Michael] recorded, he over-recorded. He would record anywhere from 20 to 30 songs for each album. --"Any of them could have been as big a hit as the ones that came out." (--We'll let you know when we hear more info . . . and / or an official release date.)
KANYE WEST CONSIDERS HIMSELF A "CONVEYOR OF TRUTH": (???)
Now that KANYE WEST has officially awoken from his near-year-long media hibernation . . . he's back to the old familiar Kanye: The egomaniacal dude who considers himself more of a hip-hop Jesus than a mere hip-hop MC. --In an interview with "Rolling Stone", Kanye described his purpose in life like this: Quote, "There's people throughout history that their responsibility is to be conveyors of truth onto [the] next generations. --"I feel like I'm that type of person that has to carry on the truth and tell the story not history." --Kanye also shared his disappointment that rappers lack the SWAGGER to reach, quote, "the greatness of rock 'n' roll." --He said, quote, "They're all scared. All the people that could be real rock stars just get scared. --"It takes so much for a me or an Eminem to come back and embrace and say, 'You know what? We have to deliver this on a major level to make a difference.'"

AMERICANS ARE SO HEALTH CONSCIOUS! WHEAT BREAD IS OUTSELLING WHITE BREAD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER:
Looks like ALL of the pro-wheat propaganda has finally sunk in. Thanks a lot, JARED. -According to the latest figures, for the first time in U.S. history, wheat bread has outsold white bread. Breads that are marketed as "whole grain" and "natural" are finally selling better than good-old, processed, vitamin-free white bread. --In total sales for the 52-week period that ended on July 10th, Americans bought $2.6 BILLION worth of wheat bread and $2.5 BILLION worth of white. Bread sales as a whole fell 3% from the previous year. (Chicago Tribune)
AMERICANS ARE SO UNHEALTHY! THE U.S. DRINKING RATE HAS HIT A 25-YEAR HIGH:
The economy's still in the toilet, we're all losing our jobs, and every other country hates us. So the only logical conclusion is . . . WE GOIN' DRINKIN'. --According to a new Gallup poll, the U.S. drinking rate has hit a 25-year high. In 2010, 67% of American adults have at least one drink once in a while. That's the highest rate since 1985, when it was also 67%. --The highest rate of all time was from 1976 to 1978, when 71% of Americans were drinking. The lowest rate ever was in 1958, when only 55% drank . . . although in 1989, the rate dipped down to 56%. --Beer is the most popular alcohol in the country today . . . 41% of people drink beer most often. Wine is second at 32% and liquor is third at 21%. (Gallup)
WORLD'S WORST JOB? BP IS HIRING A PUBLIC RELATIONS PERSON TO HANDLE THE GULF SITUATION:
Even if you're absolutely DESPERATE for a job . . . you're about to default on your mortgage, you're on the verge of bankruptcy or the mob's going to break your legs . . . this STILL doesn't sound like a good career move. --BP is looking to hire a new public relations spokesperson who'll be responsible for putting a positive spin on the Gulf oil spill. Or, at least on all the efforts that BP has made to stop and clean up the spill. --Obviously, the oil spill has been one of the biggest PR disasters EVER . . . so this job is about as big of an uphill battle as you could have. --The official title is "Director of Issues Management - Gulf Coast Restoration." --BP's job description says they want someone who has a, quote, "track record of being proactive in dealing with issues." They aren't listing a starting salary.

IN HONOR OF SHARK WEEK, HERE ARE FIVE SHARK MYTHS THAT WE'RE GONNA BUST:
Yesterday, Discovery Channel kicked off one of the best weeks of the year . . . SHARK WEEK. Here are five myths about sharks we want to BUST.
#1.) SHARKS WILL ALWAYS ATTACK HUMANS. Just because you see a shark, there's no guarantee it's going to go all "Jaws" on you. If sharks have access to their usual prey, like seals, they'll usually leave humans alone.
#2.) SHARKS ARE IDIOTS. Sharks are some of the smartest predators in the animal kingdom. They have about a 50% success rate at killing their prey . . . that's higher than lions and most of the other famous predators.
#3.) SHARKS FOLLOW THEIR NOSES. Sharks do use their sense of smell, but many species also have really good eyesight and hearing. And they also have an extra sense that detects the electrical fields that all living things give off. (!!!)
#4.) SHARKS WILL EAT ANYTHING. Most sharks like to stick to their favorite foods and not get too creative. For great whites, that's seals during the winter, and fish, rays, and other smaller sharks in the spring.
#5.) SHARKS CAN'T GET CANCER. This myth comes from the people who sell "shark cartilage" pills, saying that they might cure cancer because sharks are cancer-free. It's not true. Cancer in sharks is very rare, but possible. (Yahoo TV)
WHEN THE POLICE BUST A TEENAGER FOR USING STOLEN CREDIT CARDS, THEY STUMBLE ON HIS PARENTS' MARIJUANA FARM:
I'm not sure if it counts as a family bonding activity when two parents and their kid all get thrown in jail together . . . but it sounds WAY more exciting than staying in, cooking some Hamburger Helper, and playing Boggle. --17-year-old Trevor Miller of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, likes playing online games . . . but he doesn't have a credit card and he can't buy all of the power-ups he wants in those games. So recently, he started stealing credit cards to do it. --The police traced the stolen credit cards to him, and last week, they went to his parents' house to bust him. --But when they got there for Trevor, they found something even more interesting . . . his parents' MARIJUANA FARM. --Turns out his parents, 52-year-old James and 50-year-old Cindy, have been growing several reefer plants at the house . . . and Trevor inadvertently led the police right to them. --All three Millers were arrested and thrown in jail. (Lake County News-Sun)
A CELL PHONE STORE MANAGER TALKS A MAN OUT OF ROBBING THE PLACE BY TALKING TO HIM ABOUT JESUS:
Jesus saves! In this case, he saved a cell phone store in Pompano Beach, Florida, from getting robbed . . . so you never know WHAT he's going to save next time. --On Friday, 37-year-old Israel Camacho of Coral Springs, Florida, walked into the MetroPCS store . . . started talking to the manager behind the counter . . . then pulled out a gun and demanded all the money from the register. --The manager was 20-year-old Nayara Goncalves. She could tell Israel was nervous and apologetic about what he was doing, so she instantly brought up JESUS and her faith. --Israel told her he's a Christian too, and was only robbing her because he needed $300 to avoid getting evicted. But Nayara wouldn't stop talking about Jesus and the church . . . and eventually Israel felt so guilty that he left empty handed. --Unfortunately, the power of Christ only compelled him to stop robbing temporarily. A few hours later, he went to a Payless ShoeSource, where apparently the employees are less religious, and Israel got past his conscience and robbed them. --He was arrested a few hours later and has been charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. (Miami Herald)
(--You can see a surveillance video, with audio, of Nayara and Israel's exchange here . . .)

A GUY STOLE A BICYCLE AND GOT BEAT UP BY THE OWNER . . . SO NOW HE'S SUING:
If Michael Dupree of St. Petersburg, Florida, wins this lawsuit, the American justice system is irreparably broken. --In 2007, Dupree broke into a van in St. Petersburg and stole a bike that was inside. The bike's owner was Anthony McKoy . . . and he was down the street and spotted Dupree stealing his bike. So he and two friends took off after Dupree. --They caught him and tackled him. According to Dupree, one guy held him down with a knee in his back, another guy handcuffed him, and a third guy called the police then held him at gunpoint until they arrived. --Dupree ended up being convicted of burglary and cocaine possession and is now doing 12 years in prison --WELL . . . last week, Dupree filed a LAWSUIT against McKoy. That's right: He's suing his robbery victim. For $500,000. --Dupree says that, after he stole McKoy's bike, McKoy and his friends roughed him up so badly that, quote, "it resulted in permanent disabilities and psychological disorders." --McKoy says that after he was served with the lawsuit, quote, "I thought it was a joke. I'm the victim. It's laughable. It's a waste of taxpayer money. What gall. I guess time in prison just makes you go crazy." (St. Petersburg Times)
A YMCA MAKES A WOMAN STOP BREASTFEEDING . . . BECAUSE IT VIOLATES THEIR "NO OUTSIDE FOOD" POLICY:
This might be the strictest interpretation of a "NO OUTSIDE FOOD" policy ever. --Last week, 36-year-old Elizabeth Gomez of Medford, Massachusetts, was at a YMCA in Woburn, Massachusetts . . . and whipped out a breast to give her baby a quick feeding. --A female employee came up and told her to STOP . . . because she was feeding her baby OUTSIDE FOOD . . . and they have a rule that you can't bring any food or drinks into their child care area. --A YMCA spokeswoman now says that was a MISTAKE . . . quote, "the employee misinterpreted this as a public health issue. It is not. We support a woman's right to breastfeed in our facilities." --And it's a good thing they do . . . since that's actually STATE LAW. In Massachusetts, and most other states, laws protect mothers who breastfeed their babies in public places. --Elizabeth COULD go after the YMCA in court . . . and they could get a fine of up to $500 . . . but she says she's not going to bother. #2.) HERE'S A SONG THAT SOUNDS DIRTY, BUT ISN'T:
Have you heard "The Assumption Song"? It's a YouTube classic . . . which means it's a couple years old. Every line SOUNDS like it's going to end with a dirty word, but doesn't. Anyway, it holds up to our refined adult tastes, so look it up and suck it down.
(--Search for "The Assumption Song YouTube." Warning: The song includes bleeped profanity.)

#3.) THE "BED INTRUDER" INTERVIEW IS A BIG HIT ON YOUTUBE:
A guy in Alabama named ANTOINE DODSON became an Internet sensation over the weekend because of an interview he gave to a local TV station. It all started when Antoine's sister woke up in the middle of the night with an INTRUDER in her BED. --Antoine was in the next room and helped fight the guy off, but he got away. Then Antoine did a local TV interview and told neighbors to, quote, "Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband because they're raping everybody out here." --So naturally, Antoine's interview was remixed into a song by "Auto-Tune The News". Then people started posting covers of the song on YouTube, including one on the ukulele, and one on a weird Japanese instrument called a shamisen. (--Search for "Auto-Tune The News bed intruder" and "intruder in her bed ukulele cover" and "bed intruder shamisen." Here are those three videos, plus the original news report.)

HERE'S THE DEAL ON DOGS EATING CHOCOLATE . . . AND FIVE KINDS OF 'PEOPLE FOOD' YOUR DOG *CAN* EAT:
A lot of people say you're not supposed to feed a dog chocolate because it's poisonous. That's because it has a chemical called theobromine (--pronounced thee-oh-BRO-meen). And it IS lethal in certain amounts. --But luckily, most candy bars are made with MILK chocolate, which isn't very toxic. So if your dog eats some M&M's, don't rush to the vet. A dog can eat about one ounce of milk chocolate for every pound of body weight. --So, a seven-pound dog could eat FOUR Hersey bars and PROBABLY wouldn't die. Just be warned: BAKING chocolate is VERY toxic. And ANY kind of chocolate will cause digestive issues. --Other foods that dogs can't have include: onions, grapes, macadamia nuts, and avocados. But if you just HAVE to feed your dog people food, here's a list of foods that are actually GOOD for your dog . . .
#1.) MEAT AND CHEESE. If you run out of dog food, you can give your dog any kind of meat, as long as it's cooked and it doesn't have any bones. Even scrambled eggs will keep a dog going, if you're in a pinch. --Cheese is okay for MOST dogs. But just like people, they can be lactose intolerant.
#2.) PEANUT BUTTER. For the most part, dogs don't have peanut allergies like people do. And all dogs love peanut butter. So it's good if they're underweight and won't eat anything else.
#3.) BERRIES. The antioxidants in blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries are good for people AND dogs.
--Frozen berries are cheaper, but they're just as good. And some dogs actually PREFER frozen berries because they like chewing on the ice.
#4.) SUNFLOWER SEEDS. It's kind of a strange thing to give a dog, but it's on the list. So if you've got a 10-pound bag of sunflower seeds you've been trying to get rid of . . . by all means, give it to your dogs. --The only catch is, they can't have the shell. They can only have the nut.
#5.) BABY CARROTS. They're good for your dog's teeth. Plus, they make good treats because they're low in calories. So your dogs can eat as many as they want (PawNation.com)

Bad TV
Living in an age of “anything goes” on TV, 57% of American adults think there’s too much inappropriate content on television. A new Rasmussen Reports survey says just 31% disagree, and another 12% are not sure. Thirty-nine percent say TV’s biggest problem is violence, while 36% say sexual content tops TV’s problems; only 9% say profanity is the biggest problem. Attitudes have changed somewhat in the last few years. In June 2007, Americans were very concerned with sexual content and profanity on television, but the concern with profanity seems to have waned. So who should be held responsible for the level of objectionable content on television?
· 29% feel those who watch programs with objectionable content are most responsible.
· 25% say the makers of the TV shows are primarily responsible.
· 25% hold the television networks are chiefly to blame.
· Just 9% blame advertisers of the programs.
But after you watch the trailer at the link below, I think you'll agree with me that this one is heading straight to DVD . .

NAZZY’S SILLY VIDEOS OF THE DAY
#1.) AND NOW . . . HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU THROW A BRICK IN A WASHING MACHINE:
In case you've ever wondered what happens if you throw a BRICK in a washing machine, somebody posted a video of it on YouTube. Spoiler alert: The washing machine doesn't survive.
(--Search for "washing machine self-destructs." They throw the brick in at :56.)
