HOLLYWOOD DIRT OVERFLOW (10-19-10)

DID ELIN NORDEGREN GET A $110 MILLION DIVORCE SETTLEMENT?

We never heard how much dough ELIN NORDEGREN pocketed in her divorce from TIGER WOODS. --But RadarOnline.com says it was $110 MILLION.
--A so-called "source" says, quote, "Elin got a lot of money, but she could have received more. She wanted enough money to not change her luxurious lifestyle but she didn't try to take him for every penny that she could. --"Elin wants to get on with her life." (--That's pretty massive, but it's not the biggest celebrity divorce settlement of all time. MICHAEL JORDAN'S $168 million payout to his ex-wife Juanita is still #1.) (--NEIL DIAMOND is also ahead of Tiger. He gave his ex Marcia Murphey $150 million.) (--Now, if you consider Rupert Murdoch, the head of the Fox empire, a celebrity, then he trumps them all. His ex-wife Anna got $1.7 BILLION.)

"SCREAM 4" DIRECTOR WES CRAVEN HAD NO IDEA COURTENEY COX AND DAVID ARQUETTE WERE ABOUT TO SPLIT UP:

The marriage of COURTENEY COX and DAVID ARQUETTE hit the skids shortly before filming began on "Scream 4". But director WES CRAVEN had no idea there were any problems during the shoot. --He says, quote, "We didn't have any idea that was going on . . . I just about cried when I heard. It's a wrenching thing to happen to anybody that you love. I wish them both the best." (--David, Wes, NEVE CAMPBELL and EMMA ROBERTS previewed some footage from "Scream 4" at the Spike TV "Scream Awards" on Saturday night.) (--The show doesn't air until tonight, but thanks to cell phones and the Internet, you can watch it now.)
(--The quality isn't great, but it's worth a look. Check it out here . . .)

IS SIMON COWELL'S ENGAGEMENT IN JEOPARDY . . . BECAUSE HE SPENDS TOO MUCH TIME WITH HIS EXES?

SIMON COWELL'S engagement may be in jeopardy . . . because he spends too much time with his ex-girlfriends. --Simon's fiancée, Mezhgan Hussainy, moved to London to live with Simon after they got engaged earlier this year. But she's already moved back to L.A. --A so-called "source" says, quote, "Mezhgan has said things are not great. She says she never gets any alone time with Simon and that he spends more time with his exes than he does with her. --"She said he is just too difficult to date and they don't see each other enough. She was bored and lonely. She was in his house on her own for much of the time."

SHIA LABEOUF AND CAREY MULLIGAN MAY HAVE BROKEN UP:

SHIA LABEOUF and British actress CAREY MULLIGAN may have broken up. LANCE ARMSTRONG HAS A NEW KID:

LANCE ARMSTRONG' continues to create children at an alarming rate. His girlfriend, Anna Hansen, has given birth to a baby girl. (--He didn't say what day she was born.) MONICA IS ENGAGED TO L.A. LAKER SHANNON BROWN:

It looks like the Kardashian sisters don't have a monopoly on all the African-American athletes. R&B singer MONICA is engaged to L.A. Laker SHANNON BROWN. There's no word on a wedding date. --Monica was previously engaged to a rapper named Rodney "Rocko" Hill. They have two sons together, ages 5 and 2. They broke up a few months ago. --Monica's dating record is a little spotty. Years ago, she watched her childhood sweetheart commit suicide by shooting himself in the head right in front of her. She also dated rapper C-MURDER, who's now doing life for murder.

CELINE DION HAS BEEN HOSPITALIZED . . . BUT JUST AS A PRECAUTION:

CELINE DION has been hospitalized, but only as a precaution to prevent the early delivery of her twin boys. --She's at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. The hospital issued a statement saying this is, quote, "the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting." --Celine is about eight months pregnant. She's 42 years old. She and her husband, Rene Angelil, also have a 9-year-old son.

CHECK OUT A VIDEO OF MILEY CYRUS SCOLDING A PAPARAZZI SCUMBAG FOR DRIVING RECKLESSLY:

IS LINDSAY LOHAN BEING ADVISED TO KEEP HER MOM AWAY FROM HER CAREER AND MONEY?

LINDSAY LOHAN is getting some good advice at the Betty Ford Center. And that advice includes keeping her mom, DINA LOHAN, away from her career and her finances. --A so-called "source" says, quote, "Dina needs to no longer act as her manager, or work for her daughter in any capacity. Lindsay needs Dina to simply be her mother. --"Lindsay's treatment team at Betty Ford has emphasized this to Lindsay, very, very strongly. Lindsay feels the financial burden of taking care of her entire family. It's enormous pressure for any person in their twenties, let alone someone that is battling with addiction."

THERE'S A NEW ARREST WARRANT OUT FOR RANDY AND EVI QUAID:

Once again, there's a warrant out for the arrest of RANDY QUAID and his wife EVI. This time it's because they failed to show up for a court hearing involving their "squatting" case. --Randy and Evi were found living illegally in the guesthouse of a home they USED TO own years ago. They ditched a hearing yesterday morning, and the judge issued the warrants. But they're free to turn themselves in before their next scheduled hearing, which is one week from today.

JUNIOR SEAU ALLEGEDLY HIT HIS GIRLFRIEND . . . THEN DROVE HIS ESCALADE OFF A CLIFF:

NFL linebacker JUNIOR SEAU was arrested late Sunday night for allegedly hitting his girlfriend. And after he was released, he proceeded to drive his Escalade off a cliff. --Here's what went down: Cops were called to Junior's home in Oceanside, California at around 10:00 P.M. Junior had already left, but his 25-year-old girlfriend told them she sustained minor injuries that didn't require medical treatment. --Junior returned to the home a little after midnight, and was arrested without incident. He posted bail and was released a little after 3:00 A.M. --Several hours later, Seau went off the cliff. We don't know the extent of his injuries, but he was taken to La Jolla Hospital in San Diego, and he's being treated for a concussion. --He told police he was NOT trying to kill himself . . . he just fell asleep at the wheel. The police say drugs and alcohol weren't involved, and there are no charges related to the crash. But they're still investigating the alleged assault.
(--TMZ got some pictures of the wreckage. Check 'em out here . . .)
http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/junior_seaus_car_crash_photos
(--Junior Seau last played for the Patriots in 2009. He also did a reality show on Versus, called "Sports Jobs with Junior Seau". He's 41.)

IS MEL GIBSON THE BIG "HANGOVER 2" CAMEO?

We heard rumors recently that there was going to be a HUGE cameo in "The Hangover 2". And it might just live up to the hype. --Both "People" magazine and the "New York Post" are saying it's MEL GIBSON. They say he's playing a tattoo artist in Bangkok . . . where most of the movie takes place. --Sources say MIKE TYSON will also return. (--He had minor part in the original . . . as himself.) --Tyson could probably use the money. He's being sued for $25 million by a paparazzi scumbag he allegedly roughed up at Los Angeles International Airport a year ago. --Tyson was never charged, due to insufficient evidence.

ANGELINA JOLIE CAN NOW FILM HER MOVIE IN BOSNIA:

ANGELINA JOLIE will be able to film her movie in Bosnia after all. --Last week, Bosnian officials denied her permission to shoot her directorial debut there . . . but only because she had failed to submit a full screenplay along with her application. --But everything's been sorted out, and the film is back on track. --The movie is about a Bosnian woman and a Serbian man who fall in love during the Bosnian War of the early '90s. --When news broke that Angelina's permit had been rejected, there were rumors that it was because the woman in the film fell in love with the man after he raped her. --It's still not clear whether that's true or not . . . but Angelina issued a statement saying she hopes people won't knock the movie until they've actually seen it. --She said, quote, "There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released. --"My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film."

AN UPCOMING EPISODE OF "MYTHBUSTERS" WILL FEATURE A GUEST APPEARANCE BY . . . PRESIDENT OBAMA: (???)

PRESIDENT OBAMA loves being on TV. --He has worn out the broadcast networks with all his primetime addresses, and he's made history as the first sitting U.S. President to be interviewed on shows like "The Tonight Show" and "The Late Show with David Letterman". --He even appeared on "The View". And now, he's taking it a step further. --Yesterday, the White House confirmed that Obama will appear on an upcoming episode of "Mythbusters". (--Which airs on the Discovery Channel.) The episode has already been filmed, and will air on December 8th. --According to reports, the Obama, quote, "challenges hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to prove the ancient Greek myth that Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun." (--"Mythbusters" has actually tackled this myth twice before. It was previously "busted" in 2004 and again in 2006. It's unclear why they're doing it again.) --In a statement, Obama said, quote, "I can announce today that I taped a special guest appearance for their show, although I didn't get to blow anything up. I was a little frustrated about that."

ED ASNER HAS BEEN CAST IN A NEW SITCOM:

80-year-old ED ASNER has been cast in a new sitcom, which will air on CMT, the country music station. (???) (--Ed played Lou Grant on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", and on the spin-off, "Lou Grant". His last regular TV role was on the NBC show, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". It premiered in 2006, and only lasted one season.) (--On the big screen, he was the voice of the old man, Carl, in "Up". Before that, he played Santa in the WILL FERRELL comedy "Elf".) --The new show is called "Working Class", and it's about "a blue-collar single mom who moves her family" to an upscale suburban area. Ed will play her new pessimistic neighbor. It'll premiere sometime in January. --It's actually CMT's first scripted comedy . . . so this is reminiscent of how TV Land scored BETTY WHITE to star in their first original series, "Hot in Cleveland".

DID PAULY D TURN DOWN "CELEBRITY APPRENTICE"?

So-called "sources" tell TMZ that DONALD TRUMP invited "Jersey Shore" stud PAULY D to be on the next "Celebrity Apprentice" . . . but Pauly turned him down. --Supposedly, he wanted to focus on his upcoming "Jersey Shore" spin-off. (--To revisit the rumored "Celebrity Apprentice" cast, go HERE.)

Feeling really good about it . . . back to the roots." (--And by roots I guess Justin's referring to back when he was an everyday 13-year-old. So, you know, THREE YEARS AGO.) --There's no word on an album title or release date yet. Although, as Justin said, it sounds like it's already recorded . . . and will be out in time to be delivered by Santa.

WILL and JADA PINKETT SMITH'S nine-year-old daughter WILLOW released her debut single, "Whip My Hair", last month . . . and two days later, JAY-Z signed her to a record deal. --Now, the official video is out. http://www.vevo.com/watch/willow/whip-my-hair/USSM21001602
--By the way, Willow's "Whip My Hair" single has also received its own "Sesame Street" mash-up. (--It was made by someone who goes by the name Mec Jagger. You can watch it, here . . .)

BILLY CORGAN WANTS TO BE JUDGED AS A MUSICIAN . . . NOT ON HIS PERSONALITY:

I've already failed, and there's nothing I'm gonna do to reclaim that outside of, like, saving 50 kids from a burning bus or something. --"[But] if I'm gonna be judged as a musician, put me up against anybody, 'cause I belong there. […] It's always about the music."

TAYLOR SWIFT "STALKED" A FAN WEARING ONE OF HER TOUR T-SHIRTS:

It's pretty easy to write positive stories about TAYLOR SWIFT when she does stuff like this. In the next issue of "Parade" magazine, Taylor talks about the time she "stalked" a fan in Nashville. She's kidding about the stalking part, of course. --Here's what Taylor said, quote, "I was driving near the mall and I saw this girl with my tour T-shirt on. She was probably 11. I made a U-turn and tried to follow her . . . I really had to do some maneuvering. --"I found her in a video game store and just kind of walked up to her and said, 'Oh, hi. I wanted to meet you.' She had no idea what to say for about three minutes. --"Then her mom walked over, burst into tears, and proceeded to tell me that they'd driven all the way from Austin, Texas, just to see where I was discovered. --Speaking of Taylor Swift, next time someone says that only little girls appreciate her songwriting skills, check this out. --This past Sunday, the Nashville Songwriters Association International honored Taylor as their songwriter-artist of the year. She was honored for writing "Fifteen", "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me".

NAZZY’S RANDOM STUFF

ACCORDING TO A NEW SURVEY . . . MOST WOMEN STILL HATE THEIR MOTHER-IN-LAW:

I feel like the whole thing about how women hate their mother-in-law is a total cliché. Unfortunately, guys, the days of women battling with your mom aren't even CLOSE to ending. --The website iVillage.com just finished a survey asking women what they'd rather do than spend time with their mother-in-law. Check out the results . . .

--51% would rather stay home and CLEAN than be around their mother-in-law.
--36% would rather go to the GYNECOLOGIST.
--30% would rather have JURY DUTY. (--They could choose more than one answer, which is why we're well over 100% at this point.)
--28% would rather do taxes.
--And 28% would rather get a root canal.
--The survey also found that 28% of women say they have a "terrible" or "bad" relationship with their mother-in-law . . . 83% say they'd never get relationship advice from their mother-in-law . . . and 94% wouldn't get sex advice. (New York Post)

THE HIGHEST COURT IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES RULES THAT IT'S OKAY FOR A MAN TO BEAT HIS WIFE . . . AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO BRUISES:

Here's a quick reminder of why, no matter how bad things seem, we need to THANK OUR LORD OF CHOICE every single day that we live in America. --On Monday, the highest court in the United Arab Emirates . . . their equivalent of our Supreme Court . . . ruled that it's completely legal for a man to beat his wife and children, just as long as he doesn't leave any bruises or marks. --Dr. Ahmed al Kubaisi, a professor in the UAE, says the man needs the right to discipline his family, quote, "Sometimes she does not do a serious thing [worth reporting to the police]. In this case, hitting is a better option." (My FOX D.C.)

A WOMAN IS ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY . . . OF HER HUSBAND:

32-year-old Stephanie Fall of Price Hill, Ohio didn't get RICH off of her incredibly stupid crime on Sunday . . . but I'd venture to say that her marriage counselor is going to. --On Sunday afternoon, Stephanie grabbed her gun and tried to pull off an armed robbery on . . . HER OWN HUSBAND. Really. While they were both home she snuck up behind him, held the gun to his head, and demanded money. --So far, the police haven't said why she decided to pick HIM as her robbery victim or if he gave her any money. She was arrested and charged with domestic violence. (NBC 5 - Cincinnati)

IN SOUTH CAROLINA, A MAN IS ARRESTED FOR BEING A DOOR-TO-DOOR CRACK SALESMAN:

25-year-old Eric Godbolt is a crack dealer in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. And he's not just the dealer, he's also clearly a client . . . because only someone on crack would think THIS is a good idea. -Last week, Eric decided to go door-to-door to sell reefer and crack. Not to his clients . . . he'd just knock on a random person's door and ask whoever answered if they were interested in buying some drugs. --Someone would've called the police eventually, but it never came to that . . . because one of the people Eric tried to sell to was an off duty cop, who arrested him. Eric was charged with resisting arrest, possession, and distribution of drugs. (NBC 10 - Columbia, South Carolina)

THE STATE OF MICHIGAN HAS GIVEN AN OFFICIAL, LEGAL DEFINITION TO THE PHRASE "SUPER DRUNK":

I've definitely thought I was "super drunk" before. It was more of just a FEELING, though . . . the government never stepped in and officially confirmed that I wasn't just drunk, but super drunk. --Well . . . the state of Michigan has made it so we no longer have to GUESS. The lawmakers there have created a legal definition of the phrase "super drunk." Seriously. --Starting on the 31st, any drunk driver who has a blood alcohol level of 0.17 or higher will be officially classified as SUPER DRUNK, not just drunk. --To be just plain old drunk, your blood alcohol level has to be between .08 and .16. --And if you're caught SUPER DRUNK DRIVING, all the penalties are higher. Even first-time offenders could get $8,000 in fines, double the jail time, mandatory rehab, at least 45 days without driving, and a breathalyzer lock installed in their car. --For the average person, a 0.17 blood-alcohol content means you're drinking just over two drinks per hour. (Michigan Messenger)

HERE ARE THE TOP TOPICAL HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR 2010:

The website 11Points.com just put out a list of the top 11 topical Halloween costumes for 2010. Here are five of our favorites . . .

#1.) THE CHILEAN MINERS. This is a good group costume. Everyone needs flannel and suspenders or jumpsuits . . . some Oakleys . . . and a little charcoal on the face.

#2.) THE "BED INTRUDER" GUY. The best viral video of the year was Antoine Dodson of Alabama warning people to "hide ya kids, hide ya wife." Pay your tribute with a long black wig, a red bandanna, and a black tank top.

#3.) A TEA PARTY MEMBER. If you want to impress your few remaining liberal friends, wear a tricorner hat like an old patriot, a PALIN button, and carry an anti-OBAMA sign that contains a misspelling.

#4.) THE OLD SPICE GUY. Assuming you're handsome and muscular enough to pull this off . . . oh, and black . . . wear white pants or a towel, a sweater tied around your bare shoulders, and carry a bottle of Old Spice.

#5.) KATY PERRY AND RUSSELL BRAND. This is a good couples costume. For Katy Perry, wear a ton of makeup, a '50s-style bathing suit, and a blue wig. For Russell Brand, wear a long scraggly wig and stop showering RIGHT NOW.
(--You can see the full 11, which also includes costumes to mock LEBRON JAMES, BRETT FAVRE and BP, here . . .)

CHARITY DONATIONS JUST HAD THEIR BIGGEST DROP IN AT LEAST 20 YEARS:

It seems that when everyone feels like THEY'RE one of the less fortunate, it's a LOT tougher to get them to donate to people who really are. --According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, which tracks charitable donations in the U.S., last year, charity donations had their biggest drop in the 20 years that they've been compiling data. --Donations dropped 11% in 2009. --The few charities that did see an increase last year didn't do it through financial donations . . . their increases mostly came from people donating things like used clothes, canned goods, and toys. --Catholic Charities USA had a 66% jump in donations, but almost all of it was goods, not cash. --United Way is still the biggest charity in the country, but its donations dropped 4.5% in 2009. The Salvation Army is second-largest, and its donations dropped 8.4%. --Major George Hood runs community relations for the Salvation Army, and he says that even though donations are down, he's finding people are MORE generous than usual during the holidays. Quote, "[In 2009], Christmas was extraordinary." (Chronicle of Philanthropy)

A WOMAN SPENDS SEVEN FULL HOURS SHOPLIFTING IN A WALMART . . . AND IS ARRESTED ON HER WAY OUT:

Usually when we talk about shoplifters, they try to steal stuff quickly . . . the whole smash-and-grab thing. Not 21-year-old Valarie Stadnyk of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She takes her time and commits her crimes at her own damn pace. --Last Thursday, Valarie was at a Walmart in Port St. Lucie. She spent SEVEN FULL HOURS in the store, carefully handpicking 54 different items that she wanted to steal. The items had a total value of $455.90 and were mostly clothes. --Once they were loaded up in her cart, she tried to leave the store without paying for them. A security guard stopped her, called the police, and Valarie was arrested on a felony theft charge. (Treasure Coast Palm)

WHEN A WOMAN FINDS OUT SHE'S ABOUT TO LOSE HER JOB, SHE GETS IN HER CAR AND RUNS OVER HER BOSS:

Honestly, with the economy still holdin' us down, it's kind of amazing things like this don't happen MORE often. In Jacksonville, Florida a woman lost her job . . . and responded by getting in her car and RUNNING OVER HER BOSS. --The woman is 28-year-old Najma Asgharalam of Brunswick, Georgia. Last week, she found out that her boss, 45-year-old Shair Muhammad, was shutting down his jewelry store, called Gold Super Jewelry. And she FLIPPED OUT. --First, she stole a box of jewelry worth $15,000. Then she got in her car and drove it into Shair. Fortunately, he wasn't badly injured. Najma was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, grand theft and criminal mischief. (Miami Herald)

The Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico is a woman named Diane Denish, and she's running for Governor this year. But something she said in a debate on Sunday might have hurt her chances. --She meant to say "big fat bonuses," but instead of "bonuses," she said "boners." Instead of staying on-topic, he started re-hashing their relationship, and basically said Rittelmeyer sleeps around. --He even told a story about how she intentionally set up two friends on a date . . . just so she could seduce the guy and hurt the woman. #5.) HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW OPERA-STYLE OBAMA PARODY?

There's a new song parody on YouTube with an Obama lookalike who sings about why his administration hasn't done more in its first two years. And there's a whole chorus of Broadway-caliber singers to back him up. --It's spoofing a song from the 1879 Gilbert and Sullivan opera "The Pirates Of Penzance" . . . which you don't need to know to appreciate the video, but it won't hurt. (--Search for "Obama modern U.S. president musical spoof.")

FOUR THINGS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HIRE A PROFESSIONAL TO DO:

Do-it-yourself projects are usually a good way to save money. But some things are WORTH paying for. Here's a list of four things you should always hire a professional to do . . .

#1.) CHANGING YOUR OIL. If you don't know what you're doing, it's difficult and time-consuming. Plus, you can't just throw old oil in the trash or dump it down the drain. You have to take it to a hazardous waste center.

#2.) PRINTING INVITATIONS. If you just need 15 invitations for your kid's birthday party, fine. But if you need something to look good, you'll be happier with the finished product if a professional does it. --Plus, it's not that much cheaper to do it yourself. Most people forget to factor in how much the ink costs. And one big project can easily eat up an entire ink cartridge.

#3.) SELLING VALUABLES. The bottom line is, if something might be worth a lot of money, have a professional sell it for you. Or at least have it appraised before you put it on eBay. --You'll have to pay a commission, but you could end up making more money anyway. And you'll at least know you got a fair price.

#4.) YOUR TAXES. If you're single, and you only have one employer, it's pretty simple to do your taxes online. But it's worth hiring a professional if you're self-employed, you own your own business, or you trade stocks. (CBS MoneyWatch.com)
