EXERCISE AT WORK
***FIVE WAYS TO EXERCISE AT WORK***
With all the time you're spending at work, who has time to hit the gym? In fact, if you're like most people, you're more likely to go straight home and hit the COUCH. So here are five ways to get a little exercise while you're at work .
#1.) USE YOUR LUNCH HOUR. Instead of eating fast food at your desk, bring a fitness bar and a bottle of water to work and head outside for a 30 minute walk while you eat. Or, if you can, hit the gym for a half hour. You'll lose weight AND relieve stress.
#2.) DELEGATE LESS. If you need to make a copy or send a fax, DON'T ask SOMEONE ELSE to do it. Get up and walk around. A few extras steps throughout the day can REALLY start to add up. --To get even more exercise, park as far from the building as possible and hoof it the rest of the way. (There are a few people here at the radio station who do that)
#3.) WEAR A PEDOMETER. Studies show that you're less likely to sit around at work if you use a PEDOMETER and count how many steps you take each day. Make a note each night of how many steps you took, and then try to beat that number tomorrow.

#4.) STRETCH OUT. Sitting still for long periods of time is one of the worst things you can do for your body. So look online and find some simple stretching exercises you can do at your desk. It'll boost your energy AND help with that back pain.
#5.) BRING WEIGHTS TO WORK. Keep some light hand weights in a desk drawer. Your co-workers might think you're CRAZY, but a few lateral raises and bicep curls throughout the day can help tone your upper body AND keep you energized. (eHow.com)
