IDOL ON EBAY

THERE IS A TON OF FAN-CREATED "AMERICAN IDOL" MERCHANDISE AVAILABLE ON EBAY:

A lot of people are a little TOO obsessed with "American Idol" . . . but it takes a special level of obsession to SELL and / or PURCHASE fan-created "Idol" merchandise online. And yet, it seems pretty popular.

This week, MTV News scoured eBay for handmade "Idol" memorabilia based on the current contestants . . . and they found a few gems. Perhaps not surprisingly, ADAM LAMBERT had the most fan-created merchandise on eBay . . . with over 340 postings.

Here's what's interesting . . . (--aside from the fact that someone would repaint a Ken Doll to look like Adam Lambert, I mean) . . . If you rank the contestants by the number of items based on them that are for sale on eBay . . . . . they stack up in the EXACT order that most fans probably expect them to be eliminated. (--It makes sense, since the most popular contestants are obviously going to "inspire" the most merchandise.)

#1.) ADAM LAMBERT, more than 340 items. (--There are Adam-related mouse pads, watercolor paintings, necklaces, pins, stickers, T-shirts, earrings, photo books, beer cozies, pillow cases, mirror compacts, dog tags, shower curtains, and wall clocks.)
