HOLLYWOOD DIRT OVERFLOW (9-17-09)

CHRIS BROWN STARTED HIS COMMUNITY SERVICE YESTERDAY:

CHRIS BROWN started his community service yesterday . . . picking up garbage and cleaning police horse stables in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

As he headed out to work in the morning, he actually Tweeted, quote, "On my way to community service."

There's no word if Brown will be back at it today. He's got 179 more days of hard labor to complete . . . but corrections officials plan to work around his showbiz schedule. (--Check out the video and some pictures. . .)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIw1rZipBR0

CHECK OUT THE TRAILER FOR JIM CARREY'S "CHRISTMAS CAROL":

The trailer for JIM CARREY'S new, animated version of "A Christmas Carol" has hit the Web. (--Check it out here . . .)http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/a-christmas-carol/trailer

The movie comes out November 6th. It was directed by ROBERT ZEMECKIS, who also did "The Polar Express" . . . and it uses the same kind of "motion capture" animation technology that that flick used.

Jim Carrey plays Scrooge, plus all the ghosts EXCEPT for Jacob Marley, who's played by GARY OLDMAN.

PINK HAS SEPARATED HER SHOULDER:

PINK separated her shoulder while rehearsing a trapeze routine for her tour. She announced the injury on Twitter . . . saying, quote, "I separated my shoulder. It kinda feels like 50 angry invisible demon fairies are stabbing me."

Pink might not be able to do all the choreography she was doing in previous performances, but she won't cancel any gigs. She says, quote, "The show must go on."

TIM MCGRAW SAYS KANYE WEST NEEDS AN ASS WHOOPIN' . . . AND TIM'S NEW ALBUM EXPLORES "THE DARK SIDE":

I hope you're okay with hearing one more artist fire a shot at KANYE WEST for disrespecting TAYLOR SWIFT at the "VMAs". Because TIM MCGRAW has an interesting take. He says it actually taught his three daughters a lesson.

Tim tells "CMT Insider", quote, "He shows himself to be an idiot every time he does stuff like that. (My girls) were upset. But what he did do is provide a great example of how NOT to be, and my girls learned a big lesson."

You can also add Tim's name to the list of people who'd like to have a private word, if you will, with Kanye. He says, "When (the kids) weren't looking I said, 'He needs an ass whoopin'!'" Tim's full interview with "CMT Insider" airs this Saturday at 1:30 P.M.

While we're on the subject. Tim McGraw isn't known for putting out "edgy" music . . . at least not lately. But he DID go that way with some of the songs on his new album, "Southern Voice", (--which drops October 20th). Tim says . . . --Quote, "I wanted to lean toward the dark side. I'd rather hear something that makes me hurt inside than makes me laugh." He says two of the songs, "Good Girls" and "Mr. Whoever You Are", are, quote, "A lot weightier the second time you hear them."
