HOLLYWOOD DIRT OVERFLOW (10-03-11)

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore Went to the Kaballah Center Together:

ASHTON KUTCHER and DEMI MOORE went to the Kaballah Center together on Friday for a private, hour-long meeting. There's no word what it was about. --Sources say they arrived separately, but left in the same car. They were both wearing their wedding rings. (--Check out pics here.) (Daily Mail) --By the way: Ashton and Demi are currently following each other on Twitter. There were points over the last few days when both of them allegedly stopped following each other. But that's no longer the case.

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed are Married:

After 28 years together, GENE SIMMONS and SHANNON TWEED finally made The Big Mistake Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. --Their daughter Sophie was the maid of honor, and she sang the ETTA JAMES classic "At Last" for their first dance. --Guests included HUGH HEFNER, BILL MAHER and Gene's KISS bandmate PAUL STANLEY, who was in the wedding party. --The other two hired hands from Kiss were there as well, and the four of them played a few songs at the reception. Gene and Shannon's son Nick also sang . . . but we don't know what. --Of course, the wedding was taped for the A&E reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels". It's air on October 18th. (--They'll separate within NINE MONTHS. Quote me.)

Russell Brand Claimed He Was Denied Entry Into Canada . . . But He Was Kidding:

RUSSELL BRAND had a comedy gig booked for Saturday night at a place called Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada, but he didn't make it. --The reason he didn't make it was because his plane had mechanical trouble, so he was stuck at the airport in Los Angeles. --But he Tweeted that his plane wasn't allowed to land because Canadian immigration officials were denying him entry into the country . . . and the media fell for it pretty hard. --Just about everybody was reporting on Brand's two PHONY Tweets: --"HELP! I'm gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia!" --"I'm sorry. I can't enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds."

Halle Berry Broke Her Foot After Chasing Her Daughter . . . Who Was Chasing a Goat:

We now know how HALLE BERRY broke her foot in Spain last month. --It was on a day off from shooting the movie "Cloud Atlas". Halle was hanging out at her rented villa with her 3-year-old daughter Nahla . . . when she spotted Nahla chasing a goat across the rocky countryside. --So Halle started chasing Nahla, who was chasing the goat. She caught her, but while walking her back to the villa, she stumbled over a rock and went down.

Jeff Conaway's Death Has Been Ruled Accidental and Due to Major Infections:

The autopsy results for "Grease" and "Taxi" star JEFF CONAWAY were released yesterday. The coroner has ruled that Jeff's death was accidental, and due to major internal infections. --The causes of death include a heart valve infection, an infected arterial blockage, coronary artery disease, pneumonia and encephalopathy . . . which is a brain disorder that could have been the result of a drug overdose. --Since Conaway was hospitalized in a coma for more than two weeks before his May 27th death, the coroner did not include a toxicology report. Obviously, whatever was in Conaway's system at the time of his death was given to him by a doctor.

For the First Time in Almost 15 Years, Tiger Woods Is Not One of the World's Top 50 Golfers:

How bad has TIGER WOODS' golf game gotten? So bad that he's not even in the Top 50 anymore. And he hadn't been out of that club since October 13th, 1996. So that's just two weeks shy of 15 YEARS. --Tiger will try not to stink things up too badly during the Frys.com Open this week in Northern California.

Roseanne Thinks Bankers and Other Rich People Who Can't Live on $100 Million Should be Beheaded:

Presidential candidate ROSEANNE BARR shared some of her views over the weekend. (--Yes, she's running for president, but no, you don't have to take her seriously if you don't want to.) --Part of her platform would be to institute a MAXIMUM WAGE of $100 million. And the ultimate penalty for not being able to live on that much money is . . . DEATH. --She said, quote, "I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty. --"I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. --"And if they are unable to live on that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn't help, then being beheaded." -She added, quote, "Part of my platform is, of course, the guilty must be punished and that we no longer let our children see their guilty leaders getting away with murder. --"Because it teaches children, you know, that they don't have to have any morals as long as they have guns and are bullies and I don't think that's a good message." (--Here's video. Or go to http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/ and look for it.)

Check Out Christina Hendricks in a James Bond Visa Commercial from 1997:

Back in 1997, super-busty "Mad Men" ginger CHRISTINA HENDRICKS appeared with PIERCE BROSNAN in a James Bond-themed commercial for the Visa check card. (--You can check it out here. Or hit up YouTube and search for "Christina Hendricks in a Visa Commercial".)

Check Out Some Classic Child Acting from Joseph Gordon-Levitt:

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT may be all the rage now, but he paid his dues just like everybody else. --The Huffington Post website collected a few clips of Joseph's early work: Commercials for Pop Tarts and Cocoa Puffs and a guest spot on "Family Ties". (--Check out all three videos here.)

An Emergency Room Doctor and Two Paramedics Say Conrad Murray Wasn't Exactly Honest with Them:

There was some pretty harsh testimony against DR. CONRAD MURRAY in court on Friday. --Possibly the most damning statement was this one, by paramedic Richard Senneff . . . quote, "If he would have called us when he needed to, we could have saved this person." --Senneff was one of the EMTs who were called to MICHAEL JACKSON'S house on June 25th, 2009. And that statement backs up earlier testimony by Michael's security guards that Dr. Murray was busy hiding drugs when he should have been calling 911. --Senneff also testified that Murray was evasive when questioned at the scene. He said, quote, "I asked what [Michael's] underlying health condition was. He did not respond. --"I asked again . . . He did not respond . . . The third time he said 'Nothing, nothing, he has nothing.' --"That did not add up to me. I see an underweight patient, I see an IV here and I see medication vials on the nightstand." --Senneff said Dr. Murray initially told him he hadn't given Michael ANY medication. Then he eventually admitted he'd given him the sedative Lorazepam. --Martin Blount . . . the other paramedic who responded to the call . . . said Dr. Murray told him that the IV bags at the scene were used to administer a saline solution, to treat Michael's dehydration. --He did NOT mention propofol. --An emergency room doctor named Richelle Cooper testified that at first, Murray told her that lorazepam was the only medication he'd given Michael. --Later, he told her that Michael had also been on Valium and Flomax, but he never mentioned anything else . . . once again conveniently leaving out propofol . . . which is what actually KILLED Michael. --In addition to all this, the defense also took a beating from the judge . . . who issued a gag order on both sides, after one of Dr. Murray's attorneys went on the "Today" show and said that the jury was smart enough to know that prosecutors haven't proven their case. (--You can watch that interview at the following link: http://www.hulu.com/watch/284397/nbc-today-show-doctors-defense-team-michael-jackson-was-addicted. It begins at about the 4:05 mark.) (--You can find a pretty extensive wrap-up of Friday's testimony here: www.eonline.com/news/michael_jackson_manslaughter_trial_live/266901.)
Kurt Russell Will Replace Kevin Costner in "Django Unchained":

KURT RUSSELL will replace KEVIN COSTNER in QUENTIN TARANTINO'S upcoming Western "Django Unchained". (--Kevin recently dropped out of the film due to scheduling conflicts.) --The movie is about a former slave named Django, played by JAMIE FOXX, who has to rescue his wife from a cruel slave owner named Calvin Candie, played by LEONARDO DICAPRIO. --Russell will play Ace Woody . . . who works for Candie and trains his slaves to fight each other for sport. --SAMUEL L. JACKSON is playing Candie's plantation manager . . . and CHRISTOPH WALTZ . . . the villain from Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" . . . is playing a German bounty hunter who helps Django. --In related news, Waltz dislocated his pelvic bone while training with his horse for the movie. His injury won't affect shooting, which is scheduled to begin in January, and he's expected to make a full recovery.

"Dolphin Tale" Won the Weekend Box Office:

It was a pretty sluggish weekend at the box office. None of the weekend's new movies made more than $10 million at the box office . . . which left the field wide open for "Dolphin Tale" to take the top spot with a second-week haul of $14.2 million. --Out of the new releases, JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT and SETH ROGEN cancer comedy "50/50" did the best with $8.9 million in 4th place. --The Christian-themed cop drama "Courageous" was next with $8.8 million, followed by DANIEL CRAIG'S horror film "Dream House". And ANNA FARIS' unfunny comedy "What's Your Number?" had a disappointing eighth place finish with $5.6 million.

1.) "Dolphin Tale", $14.2 million. Up to $37.5 million in its 2nd week.

2.) "Moneyball", $12.5 million. Up to $38.5 million in its 2nd week.

3.) "The Lion King (in 3D)", $11.1 million. Up to $79.7 million in its 3rd week.

4.) (NEW) "50/50", $8.9 million.

"Arrested Development" Will Return with a Movie *And* Another Season?

There's been talk of an "Arrested Development" movie ever since the show was canceled back in 2006 . . . and yesterday, creator Mitch Hurwitz said it's STILL in the works. But that isn't all. --He also wants to bring "Arrested Development" back to TV for another season. --It would be a "limited" season with nine or 10 episodes, with each one focusing on a different character. This "mini-season" would lead up to the release of the movie. --Hurwitz explained, quote, "I've been working on the screenplay for a long time and found that as time went by, there was so much more to the story. In fact, where everyone's been for five years became a big part of the story. --"I found even if I just gave five minutes per character to that back story, we were halfway through the movie before the characters got together." --Afterwards, JASON BATEMAN Tweeted, quote, "It's true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early 2013. VERY excited!" --And WILL ARNETT Tweeted, quote, "I'm peeing with [Jason Bateman] at the moment, and we can confirm that we are going to make new episodes and a movie." --There aren't any more specifics, including WHERE the episodes would air. It's unclear if Fox is interested in bringing the show back. (--Although they did bring "Family Guy" back after canceling it . . . twice.) --For what it's worth,"Entertainment Weekly" says Hurwitz has talked to Showtime and Netflix about hosting the new episodes.

Check Out Video of Andy Rooney's Last Regular Commentary on "60 Minutes":

ANDY ROONEY made his last appearance as a "regular contributor" on "60 Minutes" last night. Andy is 92, and did "60 Minutes" for the past 33 years. --In an essay he called "My Lucky Life", Andy said, quote, "This is a moment I've dreaded. I wish I could do this forever. I can't though. But I'm not retiring. Writers don't retire, and I'll always be a writer." (--Here's video.)
If Chynna Phillips Wins "Dancing with the Stars" . . . She's Going to Ask Her Husband to Get a Vasectomy:

This is pretty bizarre: CHYNNA PHILLIPS of WILSON PHILLIPS says that if she wins "Dancing with the Stars" . . . she wants her husband BILLY BALDWIN to get a vasectomy. (???) --Why? --Well, there isn't a direct correlation between Chynna's dancing success and Billy's virility . . . but Chynna says Billy really wanted her to do "Dancing with the Stars", and so she did it for him. --So she wants something in return: No more kids. Seriously. --Chynna says, quote, "He thinks I'm kidding, but he's got a really big reality to face after the show's over. I have pushed out three kids, [and now that we have them] it's his turn . . . it's time for him to get a vasectomy. --"He's got to grow up and get snipped." Chynna is 43 and Billy is 48. Their three children are between the ages of 11 and six. --Despite her vasectomy threat, Chynna says Billy is still rooting for her to win . . . quote, "He still votes 15 times, over and over again."

Glenn Beck Is Launching a Children's Show:

Making sense of GLENN BECK isn't just for adults anymore. --Glenn is developing a CHILDREN'S show called "Liberty Treehouse" for GBTV . . . his Internet channel, which requires a paid subscription. (--It costs $10 a month, or $100 a year. The channel just launched earlier this month.) --The target audience is kids ages eight to 15. --According to Glenn's site, "Liberty Treehouse" is a, quote, "one-hour program for the after school crowd that explores the whys and wherefores of the day's news through the prism of the next generation." --The show's programming director adds, quote, "In the first show, Raj Nair, the host, is going to talk about straw polls and debates . . . what they are, where they come from and why they are important. I don't know any kids show that took that on." --He also says "Liberty Treehouse" will replay episodes of old shows like "Ozzie & Harriet", "Flash Gordon", "Popeye" and "Superman", which, quote, fs"represent a time when values and family were important." --There's no premiere date yet, but Glenn says it's beginning "soon." It'll air from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Eastern, leading into his show.

RANDOM STUFF

A Majority of Women Fantasize More About Food Than Sex:

I think we've actually reached a point in society where, for women, gorging on food is LESS socially acceptable than having sex. And this survey backs that up. --According to the weight loss company Atkins, 54% of women say they spend more time fantasizing about FOOD than about SEX. --More than one-third of women say they think about food more than they think about their boyfriend or husband. --A quarter of women say that they put more effort into their diet than they do into their relationship. --And now, the final kicker: One in ten women say they feel guiltier cheating on their DIET than cheating on their PARTNER. --The most common reason women gave for dieting was to try to get a perfect beach body. The second-most common reason was people making fun of them for being chubby. --The survey also found that at least 75% of adult women have been on a diet at least once in their lifetime. (Daily Mail)

A Scientist Finds You Literally Love Your iPhone:

The new iPhone is supposed to be announced tomorrow, and could go on sale next week. And if you buy one . . . you may start CHEATING on your partner with it. --At least emotionally. Martin Lindstrom is a scientist who just finished a study that found that people love their iPhones . . . LITERALLY. --Lindstrom looked at people's MRI results while he exposed them to the sound of their iPhone's ringer and images of their iPhones. --And he found that people's brains lit up in the same way as when they see pictures of their spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend . . . the part of the brain that's associated with LOVE and COMPASSION. --Lindstrom thought that people might have reactions in the ADDICTION section of their brains, but that wasn't the case . . . we're not necessarily addicted to our phones, we're in love with them. (New York Times)

Facebook Has Twice as Many Users as Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus Combined:

According to a research firm called SocialBakers, Facebook is still the king of social networks. --As of the end of September, Facebook had 760 million users. That's more than twice as much as Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus combined. Twitter had 200 million users, LinkedIn had 120 million, and Google Plus had 30 million. --Facebook is so popular that the most-followed person on Google Plus is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, with 570,000 fans. --Lady Gaga has the most followers on Twitter, at 13.9 million. But she has three times as many fans on Facebook, and that's only good enough for third place. Eminem has 47.3 million, and Rihanna has 45.3 million. --The most popular brand on Facebook is Coke, with 34.5 million fans. Disney, Starbucks, Oreo cookies, and Red Bull round out the top five. --Starbucks is the only brand of the five that also makes the top five on Twitter. They have 1.7 million Twitter followers, second to Whole Foods, with two million. --If you want to keep up with your favorite brand, the best day to check is Thursday. That's the most popular day for companies to update their social networking statuses. Sunday is the least popular day. --If you write to a company on Facebook, your best bet for getting a response is with a cell phone company or airline. They return messages to customers about a quarter of the time. (PC Magazine)

A Movie Theater in Utah is Fined for Serving Beer During "The Hangover Part Two" . . . Because the Nudity in the Movie Made It Count as a Strip Club?

There are a lot of cities and states that have strict laws about alcohol and strip clubs. You'll never believe this, but Utah has some of the strictest laws in the country. --And the Utah liquor control commissioners just fined a business for serving beer while the customers watched nudity. --But it wasn't live nudity and it wasn't a strip club. It was the nudity in "The Hangover Part Two" . . . and the business was a MOVIE THEATER called Brewvies that serves beer. --They were fined $1,627 for serving alcohol during showings of "The Hangover Part Two" this summer. That's $400 more than they recently fined a restaurant for serving alcohol to a minor. --The commissioners ruled that "The Hangover Part Two" showed, quote, "full female, male, and transvestite nudity." There was also a, quote, "sex act in the movie's credits and a monkey chewing a water bottle placed beneath a monk's robes." --Because of all that, they felt the people were watching an ADULT performance, like at a strip club . . . and since strip clubs in Utah that show full nudity can't serve alcohol, neither can the movie theater. --The theater owner says he won't be protesting the fine. Before writing another check to your kid's orthodontist, you might want to consider moving to Japan. --Young girls are rushing to dental salons in Tokyo to sign up for a cosmetic procedure called yaeba . . . which gives them crooked teeth. --Yaeba means "double tooth" in Japanese. The procedure pushes a girl's canine teeth forward, giving her a slight vampire-fang effect. --The idea is to make the girl look more like a cat. A lot of times, yaeba also lengthens and sharpens the two teeth to make her look even more feline. --As a result, girls have two teeth sticking out of the corners of their mouth when they smile. --Many female Japanese celebrities have gotten yaeba, and the procedure has grown in popularity in recent years. --Now, girls who can't afford the full yaeba can get fake adhesive teeth stuck on top of their real canine teeth to get crooked fang teeth without costly surgery. MEATBALL CRIMINALS

A Guy Was Hit With a Felony for Threatening to "Shoot Up" a Radio Station If They Didn't Play His Song Request:

Here's a reminder that us radio people may LOOK super ripped and tough . . . but even WE get scared sometimes. It's also a reminder that we can't always play your obscure song requests. --WBIM is the campus radio station at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Last week, they started getting anonymous calls from a guy requesting songs by a punk band called Rufio. --When the station didn't play any of Rufio's songs, the caller started making THREATS . . . and eventually he said he'd, quote, "bring a gun and shoot up the station" if they didn't play his requests. So the station called the cops. --They traced the number to 24-year-old Alex Finnegan of South Easton, Massachusetts . . . who actually used to be a DJ at WBIM and graduated in May. --When the police got to his home, he was wearing a WBIM T-shirt. He told them the calls were a joke, but even if you're joking you can't make calls like that . . . so he's looking at a FELONY charge of making a serious threat resulting in public alarm. Two Guys Test Drive a Porsche, Give the Dealer Back a Phony Key, Then Use the Real Key to Steal It Later:

It's hard to believe that this trick would work . . . and that no one has thought of it before now. --Last Monday, two men in their 20s went into Princeton Porsche in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and asked to take a test drive. (--Lawrenceville is about halfway between Princeton and Trenton.) --One of the guys said he'd just won a large legal settlement and was thinking of buying the Porsche Panamera, which costs $148,000. --One of the features of the Panamera is a keyless ignition. As long as the driver has the electronic key remote in his pocket, he can start the car. --The guys took their test drive around town, came back to the dealer, and returned the key remote . . . at least, that's what the folks at Princeton Porsche THOUGHT. --It turns out the guys pulled the old switcheroo. They returned a fake key to the dealer and left with the REAL one. --They came back after-hours and used the keys to drive off in the Panamera, which was missing when the dealership reopened the next day. Police are still searching for the two guys and the car. (Newsfeed.Time.com) (--This sounds kind of sketchy. Doesn't every car dealer make a photocopy of a person's license before a test drive? Especially at a Porsche dealership?)

NAZZY’S VIDEOS OF THE DAY

#1.) A 29-Year-Old Deaf Girl Hears Herself For the First Time:

There's a pretty intense video on YouTube . . . but it's not intense in the way you might think. It's just a 29-year-old deaf girl hearing herself for the first time, with the aid of a medical device. --Basically, she reacts exactly how you'd THINK someone would react when hearing their own voice for the first time . . . she's emotionally overwhelmed. (--Search for "29 Years Old and Hearing Myself for the 1st Time." She hears 22 seconds in. When she talks, she doesn't SOUND like she was born deaf. But she actually addressed that on her YouTube channel.)

#2.) Melissa McCarthy was Pretty Random Hosting "SNL" . . . in a Good Way:

In case you missed it, MELISSA MCCARTHY hosted "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. She's the deliciously candy-coated chick from "Bridesmaids" and "Mike & Molly". --The opening dance number she did with Kristen Wiig was just okay, but things got better after that. In one of the funnier sketches, she played an old-school catchphrase-spouting Hollywood star named Lulu Diamonds. --But the best skit was the one where she played a sexually inappropriate co-worker. It was pretty chaotic, and seemed like she was improving the whole time. Sort of like a female Chris Farley. (--Search for "Melissa McCarthy Rocks Saturday Night Live!")
Four Facts About Everyone's Favorite Topic . . . STDs:

Start your Monday morning off right . . . with four facts about the STDs you might have picked up this weekend.

#1.) Get Tested Whether You Think You Have One or Not. This one's HUGE, since STDs do NOT always have symptoms. So if you're sexually active at all, get checked out. Otherwise you could have something, not know it, and infect someone else. -If you're too embarrassed to ask your family doctor about it . . . and that's totally understandable . . . you can look up the closest local testing center by entering your zip code online. (--Use the somewhat unfortunately named hivtest.org.)

#2.) STD Rates Are Rising Among Adolescents. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly half of all new sexually transmitted disease cases are in young people between the ages of 15 and 24.

#3.) Parents Can Help. This seems obvious, but it's worth mentioning. If you're a parent and you want to help slow the increase in STD rates, you can: By talking to your teenager about chlamydia, HPV, herpes, and gonorrhea. Have fun with that. --If you're afraid to do it because you don't really know what you're talking about, educate yourself at a website called BeSmartBeWell.com.

#4.) 6% of Young People Who Test Positive Say They've Never Had Sex. That's according to a study from earlier this year in "Pediatrics". --In other words, people don't even understand HOW these things are spread, since obviously you can catch certain STDs without ever having full-on intercourse.
