CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? GOOD!

A SCHOOL DISTRICT IN TEXAS COLLECTED MORE THAN $100,000 IN TWO YEARS BY FINING KIDS CAUGHT USING CELL PHONES:

Two years ago, the Klein Independent School District in Klein, Texas started confiscating cell phones from students caught using them in school, and fining the kids $15 if they wanted them back.

In that time, the district has collected a grand total of . . . get this . . . $100,948. (!!!) --If you do the math, it means the school district has confiscated more than 6,700 cell phones. (ABC News)

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE TERM "TWINTERN"???

Don't you just love it when multinational corporations try to be cool by hiring young people to help them piggyback on cultural trends? Of course you do. It's so LAME, there's just no way you couldn't get at least SOME enjoyment out of it.

Anyway, the reason I bring it up is because last month, 22-year-old Alexa Robinson became Pizza Hut's first "twintern", which means she's an intern who was hired specifically to manage the company's TWITTER FEED. (--Get it? "Twintern"? Isn't that COOL???)

Alexa says she tries to post at least TEN Tweets a day. But that begs the question: What sort of gems has Alexa posted so far?

-- Quote: "Have you tried our new Tuscani Pasta Pairs? Two of our delicious pastas and breadsticks starting at $13.99!?"

-- Quote: "Currently the Stuffed Pizza Rolls are only available with pepperoni. I'll keep you posted if anything changes."
--Quote: "What are you listening to? My ears are craving some tunes to shake off this case of the Mondays after the [4th of July] holiday!" (MSNBC)
