FUNNY STORY
AN ELDERLY WOMAN IN SWEDEN MISUNDERSTOOD INSTRUCTIONS AT THE AIRPORT . . . AND PUT HERSELF ON THE BAGGAGE CONVEYOR:
Like most American's, sometimes, I get really frustrated with the elderly people in my life . . . because they have so much trouble grasping certain concepts that are so simple to me (--like how to send an email . . . or use the DVD player). But then I remember that there's a major gap in their understanding of new technology . . that younger generations can't even begin to comprehend.
For example, recently, a 78-year-old woman from Sweden, was at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport catching a flight to Germany. But while the woman was checking in, she misunderstood some instructions, and instead of placing her LUGGAGE on the baggage belt . . . she put HERSELF on the conveyer and rode it to the baggage handling area.
When employees in the baggage handling area found the lady, they helped her to her feet . . . and gave her clear instructions on how to get to her gate. The lady suffered no injuries . . . and she even managed to catch her flight.
Now, this is kind of a hokey story. But what I think is hilarious is that this woman clearly thought there had been some awesome new technological innovation for getting onto your plane . . . that she hadn't even heard of. So, instead of looking confused, like "You want me to get on this belt . . . and ride it to my plane?" . . . she just followed the instructions she thought she'd been given, with the assumption that everybody else did it, too. How funny is that? - Nazzy
