Top 5 Last Minute Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

OK, we've all been there. Work/School's been crazy and you lose track of time... before you know it, it's Valentine's Day! You don't want to end up in the dog house with your sweetheart, but you can't think of anything to do -- or your funds are limited.

NO WORRIES!! I'm hooking you up with my Top 5 FAVORITE last minute Valentine's Day gift ideas so NO ONE will be sleeping on the couch come Feb. 14th.

5) Ipod or CD Playlist: Have you ever seen the movie High Fidelity? In this movie, John Cusack creates special music playlists for all of his leading ladies. What a great idea for Valentine's Day! Find songs that remind you of him/her, songs that have special meaning (Wedding songs), songs that you know he/she loves. Put all of these on one playlist or CD and present it to your Valentine. Not only does this show creativity, but it shows that you pay attention to his/her likes and dislikes in music -- Always a bonus! If you need help with any music selections, feel free to email me ashley@wjyy.com -- I'm the queen of sappy love songs!

4) A Romantic Stroll: I know it may seem corny, but it's nice to go for a walk sometimes with your Valentine. Getting out of the house is always nice. Talk your special someone on a nice walk through a park or downtown. Walking hand in hand, arm in arm while talking about your day can mean the world to some -- especially when you don't have much time to do it on a regular basis. Remember, it's not about the amount of money you spend, but the time you spend together that makes Valentine's Day special.

3) Love Notes: I think I speak for many of the ladies out there when I say "I LOVE getting little notes from my sweetie!" Leave them scattered throughout the house. Look up some romantic poetry or just say how you feel. Stick them in his or her lunch bag, in the car, on the pillow for when he or she wakes up. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to say how you feel.

2) A Romantic Coupon Book: I always did this when I was a kid for my parents... although the coupons were for "1 night of eating my veggies without complaining" or "Good for cleaning my bedroom". However this simple idea is perfect for you and your sweetheart! Instead of promising to wash dishes (although sometimes that's a nice one to throw in there), you could have coupons that say "Good for one backrub" or "Use for a date night". These coupons not only are attractive to your special someone, but they can come in handy for you too :)

1) Home cooked dinner for Two: There's no excuse for not being able to execute this great gift idea. It's simple! Everyone has something in the house that they can cook... I think it's virtually impossible to screw up pasta. So check your cupboards and see what you can find! Look for some candles you can light to set the mood. Get creative with your food too! Make heart shaped meatballs, cookies, or just leave a little love note written on his or her napkin.

So now you have no excuse to be in trouble this Valentine's Day... So get out there and share the love :)

BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO

HERE ARE FOUR TIPS FOR HOW TO BREAK UP WITH SOMEONE . . . NICELY:

It stinks getting dumped. And breaking up with someone . . . especially when you don't want to hurt them . . . is almost just as difficult.

With that in mind, here are some tips to help you break up with someone . . . nicely.

#1.) Do it in private: You never know how someone is going to react to being dumped. Or maybe you do. Either way, you can spare your soon-to-be ex any unnecessary embarrassment . . . by letting the poor sap down in private.

#2.) Be kind and straightforward: Go with your gut, be compassionate and, most importantly, be HONEST. No one can fault you for being truthful. If you're not feeling the same connection anymore . . . then that's all you have to say.

#3.) Focus on the big picture: You probably need to explain the general reasons why your relationship should end. But does the guy really need to know that you hate his jokes . . . or that you think you can do better than him? Probably not.

#4.) Cut off all contact: Once you've broken up . . . don't call, don't email and . . . for the love of God . . . don't hook up with your ex. That's just asking for trouble. (Yahoo Shine)

-- Remember, you can do it!! Be strong!!

HOW BIZARRE NEWS (2/09/09)

A GUY DECIDED TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR . . . EVEN WHEN IT WAS TOUGH:

Last February, a 43-year-old guy from Madrid, Spain, named Cathal Morrow decided to find out just how much he relied . . . on LYING. So, in order to do that, Cathal swore to tell the truth about everything . . . even when it was tough . . . for an ENTIRE YEAR.

For example, when Cathal's wife, Patti, would ask him if a certain item of clothing made her look heavy, and he actually thought it did . . . he would tell her. Or if Patti caught him checking out another woman, Cathal would admit that he was trying to figure out how she'd look with no clothes on. (Daily Mirror)

So you know, Cathal's experiment is almost over . . . and his wife hasn't divorced him yet. But they both admit his honesty was tough to deal with.

ELDERLY WOMAN FAILS TO GET LICENSE FOR 771ST TIME, SETS RECORD

A 68-year-old Korean woman has just set an unfortunate, national record. The elderly woman, who is identified by her last name Cha, set a Korean record this week when she failed her driver's test for the 771st time. The wannabe motorist has taken the exam almost every working day since 2005, but continues to struggle with the written portion of the test.

The minimum passing score is 60 out of 100, but Cha only averages between 30 and 50. Police estimate that she has spent more than 35-hundred-dollars trying to obtain her license. One police officer expressed his support for Cha saying, quote, "If she ever passes, I'll make a commemorative tablet and give it to her."
